Old Poot Poot’s kind of angry.
Suicide Rust Bucket
My name is Splat. Or it was, at least. That used to be the name of my main in World of Warcraft but I haven't played that character in over a year.
This blog used to mostly be screen caps from WoW and Minecraft, but lately it's been politics (I'm registered Independent), education (I'm a teacher), and things that are adorable. Essentially if it makes me mad or happy it will go here.
The "Suicide Rust Bucket" name was coined by Slow Wolf and comes from my tendency to take warriors (& paladins, and now a DK too) into places they really shouldn't go. I die often, but usually enjoy the process. The journey's more fun than the destination.
Ask me anything
I ran Temple of the Jade Serpent with @soetzufit this afternoon on my locked 85 Warlock for some baseline numbers. I hit some peaks - 115-120k on each boss was normal, and I think I had a 140k peak on the Jade Serpent boss in the courtyard. I tanked a lot but it was okay, bosses don’t hit hard and I have CDs.
Wise Mari ended at 35k, which I feel bad about because it’s an add fight and the pauses kill your throughput. Generally I bang on the conjured water elementals and unload a CB barrage on Wise Mari, but he takes FOREVER to die. (All the while your DPS drops.)
Pulled 83k on the library trash, hit some nice 100k+ peaks but it’s trash. I was warming up though.
60k on the library boss because we just DPS through the immunity phases. Was riding along pretty high above 100k for most of this fight until we had to switch - and then I sat and waited for the immunity to end, building embers. The start of the fight is great because of Havoc - I usually can double dragon right off the bat.
90k on Liu Flameheart, which was a good fight that I tanked pretty much from start to finish. Here’s where I had the 145k burst. The DPS warrior said he should go take a nap because I was doing 70% of the damage.
82k on the Sha of Doubt, which is a tough fight because of the add phases. I tried to make sure I had high embers going in to that phase so I could Fire and Brimstone Conflag/Immo/Incinerate. Generally DPS is not high enough so that we avoid the second one of those phases.
I know I’ve done better on each of these fights - I’ve finished up the library fight at 105k, and Liu Flameheart at 125k - but this is fairly representative of what I can do in full Mists gear. This is also where the phrase “calm down lock ur making us look bad” comes from, since there’s a big difference when you are in 450s instead of 377s.
Thanks Tzufit for coming along and helping heal! It was a fun little experiment.
On my Warlock, I’m all “this is the precise sequence of events that will result in maximum DPS with optimized CD usage for survivability in this fight, ready fingers? UNLEASH HELL.”
On my Death Knight, I’m all “holy shit this button is lighting up I’ll push it this one this one wait what does the top aura mean again? push that button push that button I’ll play a guitar solo on my mouse push that one push that one is it dead yet? I think it’s dead. Oh shit I’m almost dead DEATH STRIKE SPAM DEATH STRIKE okay I’m okay they’re not okay this is good.”
As long as I’m questing or in a really friendly dungeon group, this seems to work out okay.
(… I should probably play my alts a little more often.)
And don’t forget Death Grip.
Death Grip ALL THE THINGS.
Rahkna (my hunter) is going BM to level (and also for giggles) so I decided to get a devilsaur pet.
This devilsaur needs a name, tumblr. NAME THE DERPASAUR.
I was always partial to “Cuddles” when naming devilsaurs.

for my WoW fam.
do you ever just look at people’s transmogs like
Guys I have one phrase for you and that is this:
Death Knights in the purple tier 2 paladin set
Depends on the DK. Gnomes look cute in it, regardless of plate-wearing class. =D

Warmup doodle from tonight with some quick monochrome slapped on.
Ninwyn, of Project Genome on Moon Guard.
Gnomes are consistently difficult to draw. Also, Magneto helmet. :U

The Many Healers of Azeroth - #1 The “Shammy” Healer.
This is what running with my husband, Rodakar, who is also a resto shammy is like.
This is also also why the phrase ‘THE BAEN TRAIN HAS NO BRAKES’ exists in the first place.
Because Baen forgets she is not tanking for Rodakar, and her healers are both parts terrified and aroused.
Reblogged for @Synrgy007
Because shaman are fine. L2P.
